Client Reflections: Sasha’s Style Journey
I’m so excited to share another style journey from my lovely client Sasha.
She reached out to me late last year, looking for an image and wardrobe overhaul, interested in refining her style to reflect her personality and lifestyle. We’ve been working together, through a combination of Style & Color Session, 2 Closet Edit Sessions, Accessorizing and Makeup Shopping and a few Personal Shopping Sessions, and I’m so happy to see how Sasha’s style has been transforming, along with elevating her self confidence.
I asked her to share some insights into her journey as a second installment of the blog post series of “Client Reflections: Style Journeys” — please read as she shares the reasons she looked for a stylist and her tips on finding a stylist to help you feel your most confident in the way you look!
Q: What were some of the struggles you were having with your wardrobe and some of the questions you had before we got started?
A. struggled to find the clothes that would fit my (changed) figure, my age, social status, yet would not make to me look “too young” or “too old”. I don’t have time to shop in stores. Shopping online was a big fiasco every single time. I was getting discouraged. I also felt that it was time for a kind of make-over, a fresh start.
Q: What do you think was the most exciting part of the process of us working together?
A: Every single step of working with you makes me happy, but the most exciting part is shopping and getting things I am happy about without any regrets I used to have, even after buying expensive stuff. It is also very exciting how many complements I get from my family, friends and co- workers about the way I look. But, probably THE most exciting part is the way I started to feel about myself.
Q: How was shopping with me different from shopping by yourself?
A: I can not even compare shopping with you and shopping by myself – all the cool stores I had no idea about, time saving can not be overestimated, the frustration I was feeling while shopping alone from being unable to find anything I liked/would fit. At one point I even decided that there was nothing in the US, and I had to shop in Europe. Now, even when I travel, I do not even bother to shop. Instead, I spend more time site-seeing and other cool things I could do while traveling.
Q: What would you say stuck with you the most after our sessions?
A: You are one of the (very few) best things I have ever done for myself!
Q: Any advice for people looking to hire a stylist?
A: For anyone who has never worked with a stylist before – do it sooner rather than later if you want to look and feel your best! If you are frustrated about the clothing in your closet, and get frustrated and tired in the stores (or have to send everything you got online back because it either does not fit or looks nothing like pictured), get unhappy every time you dress, feeling something is missing (or everything is just wrong), hire a stylist (or should I say, The stylist). If you are a professional who does not have the time to shop and to keep updated about what is in style – hire the stylist.
Stay tuned for upcoming stories in the series, and check out a fun behind-the-scenes photos that we took on our last shopping trip, showing off some of her new outfits. You can also shop her looks below.
If you’re interested in scheduling a session for yourself (or purchasing one as a gift), please don’t hesitate to contact me directly!
Fashionably yours,
Thank you, Sasha, for sharing your story! I can’t wait to work with you again soon 🙂
